Our Story
In 2020, the owners of the mansion, the Doğulu family from Mudurnu, became partners in the ownership of the mansion with urban planner Dr. Ayşe Ege Yıldırım and fashion designer Zeynep Erdoğan. Together the partners set out to restore the mansion. The original architectural features were carefully preserved, the sections of the load-bearing material that had been damaged over time were renewed, and it was prepared for a lively new life again with comfortable bathrooms and tasteful decoration. The mansion, which has a Private Accommodation Facility license, is operated by Terra Mudurnu Inc ( www.terramudurnu.com) with the concept of a boarding house and also hosts cultural events.
Vision
Terra Mudurnu is an investment platform established for the ‘the Historic Guild Town of Mudurnu’, a UNESCO World Heritage candidate and Cittaslow (Slow City) located in Bolu province, with a vision of sustainable economy and quality of life based on the protection of local culture and nature. It aims to make Mudurnu a high-level tourism destination and a district where young people want to live.
In accordance with sustainability principles and Mudurnu’s CittaSlow status, renewable energy sources (wood pellets and solar energy) are used to heat the mansion; single-use plastic packaging is not used; waste is carefully separated for compost and recycling.
